A camcorder bag is one of the most important accessories you can purchase for your camcorder and should be purchased before you ever do any traveling with your camcorder. A camcorder bag keeps your camcorder safe while you travel, and can also be a good place to store your camcorder accessories and tapes. Here are a few things to look for to make sure you pick the right camcorder bag for your camcorder.

A Large Adjustable Divided Interior

In addition to your camcorder, you are probably going to want to carry around your camcorders power cord, tapes, and other accessories in your camcorder bag. In order to keep your camcorder protected you need to put it in a compartment by itself that barely fits the camcorder. If the camcorder can roll around in the area you place it in then it can get damaged. Many camcorder bags are designed with adjustable dividers within their main compartment. With an adjustable divider you can create a snug compartment for your camcorder, then use the additional space in the main compartment for tapes, or your camcorder's power adapter.

Water Resistant Outside

At some point you and your camcorder are going to be outside when it starts to rain, or outside in the snow. Purchasing a camcorder bag with a water resistant exterior can help protect your camcorder when you find yourself unexpectedly in hazardous weather situation.

Secure Closure

Some camcorder bags will only have a small flap that goes over the top of your camcorder to protect it. Try and select a camcorder bag that will keep your camcorder safe no matter how you twist and turn. A good camcorder case will be one with a zippered front as well as several flaps to keep your camcorder protected against any damage.
