Sony HDD Camcorder Upgrades

When selecting an HDD camcorder disk space is an important consideration. The larger your hard drive the more video you can record without having to download video onto your computer.

In an effort to provide custokers with more space to save their memories, Sony has upgraded their digital camcorder line by offering higher capacity hard drive upgrades to all of their existing HDD camcorders. The upgraded camcorder models are available only through Sony's website "Sony Style" and offer higher capacity versions of models currently available at typical retail stores.

Sony DCR-SR42 and Sony DCR-SR62

The Sony DCR-SR42 and Sony DCR-SR62 both come with a 30GB hard drive. Sony now offers the DCR-SR42A and DCR-SR62A for $100 more with double the hard drive space (60GB).

Sony DCR-SR82

The Sony DCR-SR82 currently comes with a 60GB hard drive. the DCR-SR82 can be upgraded to the 100GB DCR-SR82C hard drive camcorder for $100.

Sony DCR-SR200 and Sony DCR-SR300

The Sony DCR-SR200 and Sony DCR-SR300 can both be upgraded to 100GB hard drives from their current 40GB hard drives. The new versions of the camcorders are called DCR-SR200C and DCR-SR300C and are $150 and $200 more.

Sony HDR-SR5

The Sony HDR-SR5 can be upgraded from its 40GB hard drive to a 100GB hard drive with the HDR-SR5C.

Sony HDR-SR7

The 60GB hard drive Sony HDR-SR7 has been upgraded to the HDR-SR8 with a 100GB hard drive.
