Sony Announces Five HDD Camcorders for 2007Hard Disk Drive Camcorders Dominate Sony's 2007 Line of CamcordersSony has five new HDD camcorder models in its 2007 line of camcorders. Linda Vuolo, director of marketing for camcorder products at Sony Electronics explains Sonys shift to HDD by saying, You never know where life will take you, using a camcorder that records to a hard drive means you have hours of recording capacity to capture those moments.
All of Sonys new HDD camcorders have a Memory Stick Duo slot for still image recording and are made with the HDD Smart Protection System to protect the camcorders data should it be dropped or damaged. The camcorders are all expected to hit the market in March 2007 with pre-orders taking place on Sonys website. Sony DCR-SR300 HDD CamcorderSonys DCR-SR300 is equipped with a 40GB hard drive and a 3 megapixel ClearVid CMOS Sensor. The camcorder has optical image stabilization, and can take 6.1 megapixel still images as well as record 20 hours of video. The DCR-SR300 has a 10x optical and 20x digital zoom, and a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens. The T lens is new to this years line of camcorders and reduces glare on the camcorder lens better than previous Sony Carl Zeiss lenses. Sony DCR-SR200 HDD CamcorderSonys DCR-SR200 is also equipped with a 40GB hard drive to record up to 20 hours of video. The DCR-SR200 has a 2.1 Megapixel ClearVid CMOS Sensor and can take a 4.0 megapixel still image. The DCR-SR200 has a 10x optical and 80x digital zoom, a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar Lens, and can record Dolby Digital 5.1 channel audio. Sony DCR-SR82 HDD CamcorderSonys DCR-SR82 camcorder has a 60GB built-in hard drive and a 1.0 Megapixel Advanced HAD CCD Imager. The DCR-SR82 has a 25x optical and 2000x digital zoom, and a Professional Quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. The DCR-SR82 can record still images at a 1152x864 resolution and has a Super SteadyShot Picture Stabilization System. Sony DCR-SR62 HDD CamcorderSonys DCR-SR62 HDD camcorder has a 30GB built-in hard drive and a 1.0 Megapixel HAD CCD Imager. The DCR-SR62 has a 25x optical and 2000x digital zoom, professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, and can record still images at a 1152x864 resolution. Sony DCR-SR42 HDD CamcorderSonys DCR-SR42 HDD camcorder has a 30GB built-in hard drive, 1/6 Advanced HAD CCD and a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. The DCR-SR42 has a 40x optical and 2000x digital zoom, Super SteadyShot Picture Stabilization, and can capture still images at a 640x480 resolution. |
