Sony Announces Four New DVD Camcorders for 2007

Sony has announced four new DVD camcorders for 2007. All of the new DVD camcorder models are now compatible with three-inch dual layer discs that can double the video recording time from single layer DVD +R’s.

All of the new DVD camcorders feature Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and are compatible with Sony’s Bluetooth wireless microphone (ECM-HW1).

Sony DCR-DVD508 DVD Camcorder

The DCR-DVD508 features a 3.0 megapixel ClearVid CMOS sensor, professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens, and a 10x optical and 20x digital zoom. The DCR-DVD508 can capture still images onto a Memory Stick Duo card at a 2848x2136 resolution.

The DCR-DVD408 has a 2.1 megapixel ClearVid CMOS sensor, professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens, and a 10x optical and 80x digital zoom. The DCR-DVD408 can capture still images onto a Memory Stick Duo card at a 2304x1728 resolution.
