Emily worked for three years as a camcorder product specialist for Best Buy before becoming a video editor for her local CBS station. In addition to editing the video for her local morning news and several specialty programs for her station Emily is co-owner of her own video production company Blind Mice Productions LLC.

Emily has a BA in Broadcasting and Cinema with concentrations in Moving Image and Sound and Media Writing as well as a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Digital camcorders have made it possible for anyone to shoot and edit a television quality film in their own home as well as author their very own DVDs. My first movie was a documentary shot on a $200 Hi8 camcorder and edited together using two VCRs. Computers have made video editing much easier.

I love shooting my own short films and entering them into local film festivals. I can do all of the work on my home computer, and it is great to have a captive audience for my film as well as see the work of others in my area.
