The Super Small Supacam
The Supacam is the newest camcorder in a line of inexpensive extremely compact digital camcorders. Like similar camcorders the Supacam is a jack of all trades sporting a 12MP digital photo resolution, the ability to hold mp3's, and even the ability to record your DVDs to it's memory.
The Supacam has 32MB of internal memory, but will support up to a 2GB SD card which can hold 320 minutes of the cameras 720x480 mpeg-4 video. The company is considering expanding to support to 4GB and later 8GB SD cards as well.
With an 8x digital zoom the Supacam is no match for even the lowest quality traditional consumer camcorders, it could be an excellent choice for traveling when your regular camcorder or digital camera is too bulky.
The Supacam has been available from the Supacam website since May 2006 but has recently started getting a lot of attention after exhibiting at CES and MacWorld.

Don’t buy it. It is low quality.
It ruined an entire vacation’s worth of photos. My webcam could do better. There is a reason why they peddle this at trade shows — they can sell a whole bunch and then blow out of town like a circus act.
I was one of the suckers from a trade show… I was at ISC West in Las Vegas. they were claiming that this was an OEM for Panasonic and that it would actually be released in August at Best Buy and Circuit City for $699 with the Panasonic name on it. They did promise a 14 day return policy, which seemed pretty safe for me.
I got it back to the hotel room only to find out what a piece of junk it was. the video resolution is horrible, there is no optical zoom, so any zooming you do results in grainy pictures, and the menu navigation “joystick” is horrible. I couldn’t move around in the menu to save my life, let alone select something by pushing down on the stick…
Luckily, when I returned it the next day, there were many people at the booth, so they didn’t want a scene and did the return with no questions asked.
BUYER BE VERY AWARE!!!!
I see them at CES and NAB selling away. This camera is not what they promote. Low quality pictures, horrible video, this is a rip off, stay away from this product.
A more suitable name for this product would be “Supa-scam”. I made the mistake of buying one at the “Fire and Rescue International” trade show in Altanta, GA (Aug 24/07).
This camera is junk!
BUYER BEWARE….. Stay away from this product!!!!….
I have been searching the web to find out how to get explorer to handle the files and how to move them to and from the computer. The device drivers don’t seem to work. I have tried on two vista and two xp computers with no success. It has poor quality productivity. Very user unfrieldly and the web page lies about tech support. They really don’t have any and won’t call you back. If you haven’t already gotten hooked into this thing don’t and if you have and you put it on ebay you will most likely get negitive feedback. It is a real peice of crap.
Bought it at Visionwest Expo in Las Vegas, in Oct 07. Got it home and it didn’t work. Sent it back, got credit on my charge card Jan.2 08. Was charged 15% restocking fee, for something that didn’t work. Buyer beware
Yes Buyer Beware. This camera is crap and I hope they are investigated soon. Dang China companies they sell bag n tag crap and talk it all up while all the while reeling in poor suckers as myself. I should have known all along….true misrepresentation and lies about their product. I cant believe they are even allowed at trade shows.
