Corel has announced that their software InterVideo WinDVD8 will be the first playback sofware to get AVCHD certification.

Corel's General Manager of Digital Media said, "As the first to deliver an AVCHD certified player, we look forward to incorporating AVCHD suport into our consumer editing and authoring tools in the future."
