The next generation of the popular Flip series of pocket camcorders were announced last week and we've had the opportunity to test the new MinoHD - the smallest of the Flip family. This is sure to be a popular pocket, but is it any good? Find out here.

Greg,
I am a long time reader, first time commenter on you blog.
The little Mrs. just informed me that she wants to get me a new camcorder for the holidays, so I am turning to the expert for advice!
I do not want to break the bank on this (the kids will need to go to college eventually). I am not sure if the best avenue to go is with a hard drive or flash camcorder. I would like to go with a camcorder that is small, but not small like the flip that you reviewed (I kinda like the barrel body camcorders). I would just like to use it to capture home movies of the kids when they are playing with their equally cute friends down the street. Oh, and since I have a HD TV, I would like to have the camcorder capture in HD as well.
You are the most authoritative expert I have come across on the blogs and am hopeful that you can assist.
Thanks,
Brian
