If you, like me, have $21,000 burning a hole in your pocket, I'm happy to inform you that Panasonic is taking pre-orders for their 3D HD camcorder. First, you'll need to part with a $1,000 non-refundable deposit (look under the couch cushions). Then wait until the fall, when it becomes available.

Panasonic did provide a few more details on the 3D video camera just to whet your appetite. It weighs in at 6.6 pounds and offers a pair of lenses with two of the companies 1920 x 1080 3-MOS image sensors. It records in the AVCHD format at a variety of frame rates to a pair of SDHC cards.

While this bad boy is aimed at film-makers it's also a sign of the big push by electronics companies to bring 3D into the home. 3D HDTVs and Blu-ray players are due in the spring and summer from some of the big name companies and if they catch on (still an if at this point), you can be sure more consumer-friendly 3D camcorders will follow.
