Sanyo has gotten a jump on its New Years' resolutions apparently by slimming down its HD camcorders. The company introduced a pair of flash memory-based models at CES that cut back on the bulk (not that earlier models were terribly large to start with):
- 1920 x 1080 resolution video in H.264 format
- 30x advanced zoom, wide angle lens
- face detection
- 10-megapixel still photos (via interpolation)
- $399, ships in red and black in Feb.
VSC-CS1 is a vertical model that features:
- 1920 x 1080p recording in the H.264 format to SDHC cards
- face detection
- a zoom microphone which changes the direction of sound recording based on where the lens is positioned
- $299, Feb. ship date
